(Finally!) Have Printer Ink

It has been quite some time since I've printed anything from home, even though I’ve wanted to several times. Every time, I have to stop myself and figure out another way to do what I wanted to do -- or just wait -- because I hadn't trekked over to the office supply store to buy printer ink. I wait to buy new ink because it's so expensive. Thank God, my husband finally bought some ink cartridges online (I had no idea you could do that!). He bought some remanufactured HP ink cartridges that were cheaper than new ones.

Either way, having a printer all primed and ready and full of ink and prepared to print has helped me make some money today. I went through all the books on the shelf in my kitchen and on top of my microwave, and then I searched Amazon's Trade-In Store for many of the titles.

The ones that offered a trade-in value, I went ahead and printed the labels for so that I could ship them for free. It really was awesome to have a functioning printer again so I didn’t have to go get them printed at Kinko’s or something.

Needless to say, there are benefits to keeping ink in the printer. Earlier today, my daughter and her friend were playing around online and wanted to print out drawings and I warned her to only print one or two or three. I like to save the ink and not waste it, so it'll be available when I'd like it to be.

Right now, we've got several extra cartridges that my husband went ahead and ordered from the same website. It was good so we won’t run out of ink anytime soon. Regardless, I prefer to read on screen so that’ll help save that precious printer ink for when I really want to use it. Except I guess I can now have it delivered right to my door, so I don’t have to be so stingy.

The Unexpected Convenience of Ink Refills

Using compatible remanufactured ink and printer toner cartridges can be an economical solution to your printing supply needs. Because new printer accessories tend to be costly, many people and businesses are looking for cheaper alternatives. Ink cartridge and toner manufacturers are constantly improving the quality of their products to ensure superior results, and having your cartridges refilled is another great way to save.

It's important to find replacement printing products that match your particular device. Printer toner and ink cartridges have identifying numbers that allow you to check compatibility with your model of equipment. Refurbished cartridges come in different styles and shapes, so make certain that the cartridge you purchase fits properly. Toner and ink replacement containers are recyclable, which means more benefit to the environment.

Printer toners and ink cartridges for laser systems provide quality results. Most laser printers use a combination of various colors assigned to a specific cartridge. You can also buy printers that use a single monochrome color for text documents. A laser printer operates similarly to a copying machine. A laser creates an electrical charge that passes through the toner. Colors are then transferred onto paper to create a heated color application. Laser printers are recognized for their superior performance and longevity.

Most modern printer toner cartridges contain sensors to detect when the container is low of fluid. Usually, the printer stops functioning when it detects an empty or low cartridge. This feature is designed to prevent any harm from occurring to your printing equipment. Also, an almost empty cartridge can result in poor printing quality including smudges or fading. This is when it's time to purchase another cartridge or have your existing one refilled.

There's a distinction between toner cartridges and ink cartridges. A printer ink cartridge contains the colored and black inks used to put images and text to paper. Toner is a special powder that binds the ink to help boost printing quality. Printer ink cartridges and toners are sold separately. You can find authorized name-brand cartridge dealers that offer replacements for every major printing device manufactured.

Installing the correct printing cartridges in your printer means you'll always have quality photocopy and printing results. Remanufactured cartridges are assembled with stringent control measures to ensure excellent performance. Many refurbished printing accessories equal or exceed the original cartridge manufacturer specifications. In order to cut your ink and printing costs without sacrificing quality, consider using refill kits and recycled HP printer toner cartridges.

Save Money with the Right HP Inkjet Cartridges

If you own a business that is based mostly on paperwork, where printing documents is essential, or you simply have a home office, then you already know that your original printer cartridges do not last forever nor that their replacement is a cheap operation. HP printers are already known to be on top of the list when it comes to printing quality; so if you own an HP printer then you’ll want to find a good quality ink cartridge replacement. Here are two ways to keep your printing quality high and your cartridge costs low.

Find a Good Replacement for Your HP Inkjet Cartridges.

As stated above, HP is one of the top brands when it comes to printing. However, their inkjet cartridges do not last forever and replacing them can become a hassle. Therefore, one of the best options is to replace them with re-manufactured or compatible cartridges. Although there are many places where you can purchase compatible HP inkjet cartridges such as specialized local stores or online shops, it is mandatory to keep in mind that quality is the key that will save you money. Buying low quality cartridges, aside the fact that will print a smaller quantity of paper, can also damage your printer which will result in investing more money than simply buying higher-quality ones. Therefore, buying from a trustworthy source that can provide quality is essential.

Refill Your HP Inkjet Cartridges with Ink Refill Kits.

Another possibility of keeping your printer running without having to buy new cartridges is by re-filling your old cartridges with ink. This can be done by going to a store that can refill your printer's cartridges or by buying a refill kit. Going to a store to refill your HP inkjet cartridges can be time-consuming and moreover, many of these stores use ink of low quality in order to keep the profit margins high. Therefore, the second option is by far the best mostly because such ink refill kits are cheap, can provide the best quality if purchased from a good source, and they keep you away from the drill and fill technique used by most of the ink refill stores, which will only damage your cartridges sooner or later.

These are two easy ways of keeping your printer's features high and saving money at the same time. However, remember to verify your source before buying in order to make a successful purchase. One of the best online stores with a lot of experience and quality items can be found at 4inkjets.com.

Lexmark Ink Cartridges Revered as Quality Products

Since 1991, when IBM sold their printer division to the company Clayton & Dubilier & Rice Inc., Lexmark has pioneered innovations in the field of printing and imaging developmental technologies. Specializing in dot matrix, inkjet, laser, and multifunction’s printers, Lexmark joins many other companies in distributing quality ink cartridges.

Like most ink cartridges today, high-quality Lexmark ink cartridges offers two varieties: black, and tri-color. While black toner is used mainly in the printing of words, tri-color utilizes Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow in order to achieve the full spectrum of hues. Together, these colors create the popular graphic designers’ initialism CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black). This allows for more efficient printing of images and photographs, something necessary for every printer.

Since it was discovered that many ink cartridges cause harm to the environment, many companies have taken initiative to begin recycling and reuse processes. Lexmark promotes its Cartridge Collection Program as a signal that it is environmentally friendly, and making money at the same time. Once cartridges are sent back to Lexmark, they are cleaned; then, the parts are reused in the production of new cartridges, helping Lexmark cut back on costs.

Going hand-in-hand with the Cartridge Collection Program is Lexmark Rewards, carrying the slogan “Reduce, recover, reuse, recycle.” Joining the Lexmark Rewards program is free for any customer, and it can yield a number of benefits. For every ten Lexmark cartridges returned to the company, the customer will receive one free high yield toner cartridge, a definite bonus. Customers will also receive free replacement imaging kits for any printer, as well as free shipping on all Lexmark Rewards processes.

While Lexmark ink cartridges are typically more expensive than other brands, customers can take solace is Lexmark’s green and environmentally friendly initiatives, and the fact that they are receiving high-quality toner. All brands of printer ink will be relatively expensive, no matter which store or company it comes from. In modern days companies, especially those that distribute ink, need to advertise themselves as “green” organizations and institute rewards programs for dedicated customers. This will attract consumers, as well as convert some from other brands.

Lexmark’s reward and environmental programs are perhaps its biggest benefit. Compatible Lexmark ink cartridges are revered as quality products, and the reuse of them benefits both the company and the consumer in the long run. Lexmark will not let any customer down, neither with its printers nor its ink cartridges.

Reduce Environmental Waste With Remanufactured Inkjet Cartridges

A remanufactured HP inkjet cartridge is just like other types of printer cartridges that are recycled. A person would gather a few used inkjet cartridges he no longer needs and mail them to manufacturers that accept them. Then the manufacturers would take these cartridges apart and rebuild them to create new inkjet cartridges before selling them to stores. When you buy remanufactured HP inkjet cartridges you cut down on environmental waste since there will be less cartridges in landfills.

Compatible Generic Cartridges Are Cheaper

If you want to buy remanufactured HP cartridges for your inkjet printer at an affordable cost, you should consider generic remanufactured cartridges because many of them are compatible with most brands of inkjet printers and you can find these at office supply stores and wholesale stores. Read reviews of the generic brands to determine if the quality is good.

Refilling The Cartridge

Here is how you would refill the cartridge for your HP inkjet printer. After you purchase the refill kit, you need to find out where the holes are for refilling. Once you do this you would fill a small tube with the color ink and the second tube with the black ink. Then take small drops of ink from one tube at a time and refill the color and black cartridges.

How to Fix a Dry Remanufactured Cartridge

To fix a dry remanufactured HP cartridge, you should turn the cartridge upside down and then put it in a bowl of warm water or run the cartridge under the warm water in a sink. Once you complete this step you need to dry the cartridge with a cloth and then again with a paper towel. Finally, you would put it back in the printer.

Conclusion

Getting remanufactured cartridges for your inkjet printer saves you money and it helps the environment at the same time. When you buy these cartridges you should buy them in bulk if you're a business owner who uses the printer frequently because this keeps you from having to make repeated trips to the store. Throughout the year look out for discounts on the cartridges and choose a generic brand that is compatible with your printer. The recycling center is a good place to get remanufactured cartridges and many online stores carry them. Finally, take good care of your cartridges so they'll last longer.

Taking Care of Your Printer and Printer Ink Cartridges

Just like any other machine, printers need care and regular servicing and maintenance. However, many people remember their printers only when they need to print something, when the paper jams or when the print quality is lower than expected. Printers can run into very problems that, if left to accumulate, can lead to the printer not responding as expected. The good news is that these problems are easy to troubleshoot and solve.

Poor quality of printouts is perhaps the most common printer problem. The printer may at times print documents with a few missing lines resulting in stripped font. The problem is caused by dried up printer ink cartridges, a result of not using the printer for some time. Printing regularly (at least twice per week) will prevent the printer nozzles from drying up. If you have no document to print, you can run a test print in draft mode to keep the nozzles alive.

Ensure your printer stays clean. Dirt causes almost 50% of printer problems. Clean your printer every now and then both on the inside and the outside. You should also make sure you place your printer in a dust free zone. If this is not possible, keep your printer covered with a cloth or a plastic bag when you are not using it.

Do not use counterfeit products in your printer. Low quality printer ink cartridges can be very messy, not to mention that they produce low quality printouts. Avoid buying cheap, unreliable cartridges and instead buy remanufactured or compatible cartridges from a reliable source. Remanufactured cartridges are as good as new since they undergo quality control procedures making them cheap but also high quality.

Do not use papers that are old, dirty or tattered, or paper that has been used previously. Such paper will ruin the quality of print and may also leave dust on the inside of the printer. Also make sure you buy the recommended paper quality and size. Low quality paper may lead to paper jams or may produce poor quality printouts. Consult your vendor for instructions on where to buy the right paper for your printer.

Store printer ink cartridges in a plastic bag if you know you will not be using the printer for some time. Include a damp sponge in the plastic bag to make sure there is enough humidity to avoid drying up the cartridge. Store the cartridges in different plastic bags to avoid mixing of colors. The plastic bags containing the cartridges should be stored in a cool place away from direct sunlight.

Don't wait till you use the last drop of printer ink in your cartridge before having it refilled or replaced. This is not recommended since it can lead to print burn out. Replace or refill your cartridge when the ink starts fading or when you notice missing lines in your printouts. To avoid disappointments, buy several remanufactured ink cartridges to have on hand as backup.
